Today I had dinner with a close friend that I worked with about 6 years ago. He is the salt of the earth and is such an incredible person, family man and a person that everyone respects through his careless giving. This evening we had a conversation after he took me out to dinner and I brought him to Jumpsters to show him what I had been up to lately. That's an understatment. After some business talk, we started talking a little about our struggles that were burdensome. This was not a venting conversation but just one about where we were in our lives and our businesses. After about an hour of standing outside of Jumpsters, I had the clear realization that my friend delivered something in our conversation that will guide my thoughts……hopefully everyday.
God wants us to drop the façade and be who he intended us to be. We try to put on a fake mask, that gives everyone the impression that we are on top of our game, but in reality, we are broken in some way, because it is simply an act. It seems that when we take the shield off and ask people to help us, they now know are burdens and can help us. No one except God knows where you are as you struggle, unless you reach out and tell them. Not just to burden them with another set of problems, but to ask for their help or their prayers . God wants us to let his children know our situation so that we can understand his power through others. So, my gift for the day is a reminder that God want us to be real and the person without the mask and without the façade. It is only when we can be REAL that we can let our guard down, be who we are and ask for help. So go ahead and put your real self out there. There are a lot of people out there that would like to help you. NOW THATS FREEDOM! -mark
